Birds and wildlife

Capercaillies, black grouses, owls, brown bear...

Would you like to sneak up behind the Wild Forest Reindeers (Rangifer tarandus fennicus) and watch the calf eating peacefully on the mire, enjoy the spring and mysterious feeling on Capercaillie's (Tetrao urogallus) lek or what about night as guest of the majestetic Brown Bears (Ursus arctos), kings of the forest?

Depending the time of the year you can watch and photograph for example Brown Bears, Wild Forest Reindeers, owls, Beavers, Golden Eagle, Whooper Swans, Capercaillies, Black Grouses, orchids...

You can concentrate to only one species or we can organize around trip which gives you the possibility to watch and photograph many species on the same tour. Ask the up-to-date list of organized tours and possible species at the time!

It is the matter of honor for us to organize tours with minimum disturbance for animals and other nature. In fact, our wildlife & bird tours are the win-win situation for all: we take lot´s of nesting boxes for birds and we have feedings for birds and mammals. For example extremely rear wolverines, with many other birds and animals, has got several hundred kilos of meat every winter.

Our wildlife & bird watching & photographing tours include guiding, use of hides, snacks during the excursions, taxes and local transports.

Schools and colleges

Ready made programs for student groups are coming soon. Meanwhile have look to Koirasalmi Lodge, that suits well for groups up to 22-25 people. Our services at the Lodge include accommodation, meals and program, everything in the middle of wilderness in Salamajärvi national park. The Lodge is perfect location for nature-based school camps and for field courses for biologists, wilderness guides and why not also for example artists!

Courses and seminars

Sirkka Experience organizes courses and seminars based on nature, nature activities, culture and traditions. All courses are lead by highly respected experts and professionals of their own field. At the moment all our courses are kept in Finnish, but please give us a hint what you would like to learn, try or practice. Or maybe you have a own group and you would like to come to wilderness to lead your own course?
